This diagram shows the path of satellite telemetry (T/M) from EUVE to the Center
for EUV Astrophysics (CEA) at the University of California, Berkeley. T/M is
recorded via on-board tape recorders and transmitted to the ground every few
hours. EUVE transmits the T/M stream to a satellite in the Tracking and Data
Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) which, in turn, relays that data to a TDRSS
ground station in White Sands, NM. The data is then relayed to the NASA
Communications Facility (NASCOM) via a domestic satellite (DOMSAT) and then on
to the Multiple Satellite Operations Control Center (MSOCC), where it reaches
the Flight Operations Team (FOT) who monitor and control the spacecraft. The
T/M is also routed by NASCOM through the Packet Processing (PACOR) facility
which reformats the T/M stream and relays it, through DOMSAT and Onizuka Air
Force Base, to the EUVE Science Operations Center (ESOC) at CEA where the
Science Payload is monitored and controlled. CEA is also responsible for
level-one science data processing and analysis.
